Liverpool aren't expected to spend big this January market.

The People says unless an opportunity arises that is too good to miss, the Reds will only bring in players until the end of the season.

Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool's transfer committee signed Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Lazar Markovic, Emre Can, Alberto Moreno and, of course, Mario Balotelli in the summer as they used the Suarez funds to prepare their squad for the season ahead.

But none of them have set the world on fire and Lovren and Markovic, and in particular bad boy Balotelli, have seriously struggled since arriving on Merseyside.

Rodgers is using his network of scouts and contacts to look for loan players as he looks to get his side back in the race for the Premier League.
