Liverpool are not pursuing Wesley Sneijder according to managing director Ian Ayre.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan playmaker this Sunday, despite agreeing a deal with Galatasaray, but Ayre told Sky Sports that there is 'absolutely no interest' in bringing him to Anfield.
However, Ayre did make it clear that the Anfield club do have the resources to sign a player like Sneijder if they see fit.
"We have got the right team behind this, right amount of effort and right level of investment and it is about getting the right deal that fits," he added.
"That is the most important thing, lots of teams including Liverpool have seen some deals done in haste, or at the wrong time and we are not going to let that happen and we are going to manage that efficiently and properly and get the best we can get."
