Liverpool coaching staff have been over-ruled in their bid to keep hold of Ben Woodburn.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and his coach Pep Ljinders are huge fans of Woodburn and were happy for the forward to stick around this season and be part of the squad.

But the Reds hierarchy have taken that decision out of their hands as he prepares to join Hearts on loan.

Woodburn was on the bench for Saturday's clash with Norwich as the Reds secured a 3-0 opening day win at Carrow Road.

The Athletic reports both Klopp and his assistant Ljinders were keen to keep him in and around the first team squad this season.
