Liverpool are launching a £12 million bid for Blackburn Rovers winger David Bentley.

The People says Reds boss Rafa Benitez is going to sound out Rovers with an opening offer as he looks for an out-and-out right-winger.

However, Blackburn want at least £15m for unsettled Bentley, who has refused to sign a new deal with Mark Hughes' club.
