Aston Villa have been rebuffed in an attempt to sign Rickie Lambert on loan from Liverpool. The England striker has also attracted interest from Hull, West Brom, Crystal Palace and QPR.
The 32-year-old will have limited game time but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants cover as Liverpool continue in the Europa League, FA Cup and their push for a Champions League spot.
