Liverpool are believed to be muscling in on mooted Arsenal territory by reportedly going after Morgan Schneiderlin.
The French midfielder was a target for the Gunners in January and it is believed that Arsene Wenger has remained interested in him ahead of a possible summer swoop.
But the Daily Star suggests that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants 24-year old Schneiderlin has constantly improved on the south coast since his 2008 move to St Mary's from Strasbourg.
Schneiderlin, who has made over 220 appearances for Southampton, is valued at around £12million.
