Liverpool midfielder Elliott: Burnley made it difficult

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott admits Burnley made it difficult on Saturday.

The Reds eventually won 3-1 on Saturday.

Elliott said: "They came here with a clear gameplan and made it very difficult for us today, as they did in the home game.

"They are a very tough team with a clear way of playing. Yet again we were able to dig deep and find the three points from somewhere. We were clinical when we needed to be and got the three points which is the important thing.

"It's always a nice feeling to be top, especially after the last game. We needed to bounce back and show fight.

"There's still a long way to go yet so we can't get carried away. We just need to take it game by game. It's always a confidence-booster when you're top of the league. We just need to keep going now.

"I just think we need to take it game by game and putting in the performances. We need to keep winning and putting points on the board. That's all we can do. We need to use today as a confidence boost into the next one. We can't really look back. We will just keep marching forward."
