Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen insists Wales teammate Gareth Bale is no diver.

The Reds host Bale's Tottenham today.

Allen insisted: "I wouldn't class him as a diver."

Does Bale's style of taking people on at pace often leave officials with a tough call to make? Allen said: "Yes, they are decisions that referees have to make. They can be borderline, but they have to make a decision."

Allen's Liverpool team-mate Suarez has also been dubbed a diver. Allen said: "These allegations are made sometimes. It's difficult to say if they are exaggerated.

"But both Luis and Gareth have games that are top drawer."
