Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana: Winning trophies an addiction

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana admits winning trophies is becoming an addiction for the Reds.

Lallana played the full 90 minutes to help the Reds reach the FIFA Club World Cup final with a 2-1 win over Mexican side Monterrey on Wednesday.

It was only a fifth start of the season for the 31-year-old, who has already picked up European Cup and UEFA Super Cup winners' medals this year.

And asked if creating history was an incentive against Flamengo on Saturday – never before have Liverpool been world champions – the England international said: “Of course it is.

“It's like an addiction, you win one medal and you want to win another. You want to win more.

“It'll be a very tough game. I'm sure Bobby (Firmino) and Alisson will gives us some inside info into them.

“We watched them the other day, they were very dynamic, very aggressive, physical, we will have to recover quickly. Another trophy is up for grabs at the weekend so bring it on.

“It's massive. We are European champions and to be World Club champions there's not many people who can say that."
