Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen admits he needs to be playing at a higher level to fulfil his potential.

Eriksen talked up the prospect of joining Manchester City last week, while Ajax chief Marc Overmars has revealed an approach from Liverpool.

After starring against PSV Eindhoven on the weekend, the Dane said: "There should be no difference, but I cannot deny it. Sometimes it seems as if my own level rises against a better opponent.

"In the Champions League, for example, where the ball is played quickly around and everyone thinks and reacts faster, it suits my style of play."
