West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has remained a transfer target for Liverpool who have made new enquiries about his situation.
The Hammers have told Liverpool that Cole will cost them £12million and now Reds boss Roy Hodgson will have to wait and see if midfielder Javier Mascherano leaves for Inter Milan so he can use that money to make the purchase.
Cole has been heavily linked with Stoke City but reportedly does not want to end up there and hopes Liverpool stay interested, especially after news has emerged that they are set to sign Christian Poulsen from Juventus, who will act as Mascherano's replacement.
