Liverpool have joined the battle for Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld.
Ajax have confirmed they're in talks with Atletico Madrid over a fee for the Belgium international, who has also been linked with Arsenal.
Belgian media sources say Liverpool are also keen and made contact with Alderweireld's agent, Soren Lerby, this week.
The Reds are yet to open talks with Ajax for the defender, but know the young centre-half would jump at the chance of moving to Anfield.
