Liverpool will wait until the FA Cup final has been played before continuing their pursuit of Christian Benteke.

The Belgian striker and his Aston Villa teammates are preparing for Saturday's clash with Arsenal at Wembley as they look to clinch their first piece of silverware since the 1996 League Cup.

The Reds are determined to land the signature of Benteke in the summer transfer window so will give him time to focus on the cup final before making a serious play for his services according to the Daily Mail.

Benteke scored 13 Premier League goals this season with 11 of those coming in his last 11 appearances under Tim Sherwood.

He also netted the equaliser in Villa's eventual 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final last month.
