Liverpool are being linked with Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.
The Dutchman only moved from PSV Eindhoven last month.
But he has since failed to break into Pep Guardiola's team and has not made a single appearance in La Liga.
Liverpool are monitoring Afellay and will tempt him with an offer this summer if he fails to turn his fortunes around.
