Liverpool legend Alan Hansen can see David Moyes buying a complete new back four at Manchester United this summer.

Hansen wrote in the Telegraph: "Nemanja Vidic's decision to leave Old Trafford is a crushing blow for David Moyes and with Rio Ferdinand also expected to retire, Manchester United are going to need a whole new back four next season.

"Vidic is going to be incredibly difficult to replace and alongside Ferdinand they have been undoubtedly one of the greatest centre-back partnerships in the Premier League. A future without them both is a grim prospect for United.

"This was supposed to be the season of transition for Moyes but I fear he has not got to just replace his two centre-halves this summer but find an entirely new defence."
