Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says the return of Daniel Sturridge is like having made a big-name January signing.

Dalglish wrote in the Mirror: "It's always important to have your best players available and his season hasn't really started this year.

"It is like a January transfer window signing, Daniel coming back to fitness and being available.

"He scored in his first game back and it augurs well for him and for Liverpool."
