Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has blamed his side's lack of killer instinct in final third in their 1-0 defeat to Hull City at the KC Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Reds have managed to score just 47 league goals this season, which is 46 fewer than they had at this stage last year, with their lack of scoring ability the underlying factor in the loss to the Tigers.
Of the toothless performance, Rodgers said: "We just lacked that killer instinct in the final third.
"We are disappointed with the goal. Apart from that we didn't have too many chances against us. It was poor defending from us. We didn't come out together and Dawson is onside.
"We were never enough of a threat. It's been a mark of the season really, in that final third we have struggled."
