Liverpool have told Rafa Benitez's Inter Milan it will cost £8 million to land Lucas Leiva.
The People says the Kop have had approaches from Greek giants Panathinaikos and a Serie A side believed to be Palermo in the past few days as word goes round that Lucas can go at the right price.
Panathinaikos are prepared to pay around 4 million pounds, a fee that the Italians will match for the Anfield man, who has often been the butt of abuse from the fans.
Liverpool are prepared to sell Lucas but are anxious that if they accept the offer from the Greeks or the Serie A side it will open the door for Benitez to make a counter-offer.
