Steven Gerrard's debut for MLS champions LA Galaxy has been tentatively set for July 11.

The departing Liverpool great will grace the pitch for the first time with the Galaxy in an International Champions Cup game against Mexico's Club America at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Gerrard is eligible to officially join the club on July 8 and according to head coach Bruce Arena, could make his debut just three days later.

"We expect him here before July 11," Arena told lagalaxy.com.

"We haven't finalised a date yet. He will be here, he'll get some training in and by the time that he's eligible to play; he'll be ready to go."
