Liverpool hope to close a deal today for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Brad Jones.
The Mirror says Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will today tie up a £2.25million deal for Middlesbrough keeper Jones.
Jones has been on his way to Anfield for a fortnight but was held up by wrangles over the method of payment. That has now been sorted out, paving the way for the move.
Jones - who has two Australia caps - was desperate for the transfer to go ahead and kept himself out of the Boro side for the Carling Cup to ensure he was eligible for a competition in which he is likely to figure.
Hodgson wants cover for Pepe Reina, and Jones also qualifies as "home grown", which will help as he juggles his squad list for the season.
