Graeme Souness has implored Gareth Bale to stop jogging and get back to the explosive pace that has seen him destroy defenders.
The Welsh winger was again below his best in Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final second leg with Juventus on Wednesday night which saw the European cup holders crash out of the competition.
Former Liverpool star Souness believes Bale needs to attract the ball with rapid movement instead of the plodding he has been doing in recent times, suggesting the former Tottenham man is not working hard enough for his team.
"A lot of the time it's the guy without the ball who makes up the mind of the passer - by his movement, by his aggression," he said on Sky Sports.
"Bale's a sprinter, he's dynamic but in that first half he was jogging into areas. He can demand the ball by his own movement. In the second half he came into it more and should have scored."
Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Juventus on the night but were eliminated from the Champions League 3-2 on aggregate by the Italian powerhouse.
