Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have ranked fourth and fifth respectively in Major League Soccer's highest-paid players list.

Former Liverpool captain Gerrard, who plays with LA Galaxy, brings in $6.3million (£4.3m) per year while Chelsea icon Lampard (New York City FC) is just behind his former England teammate on $6m (£4.1m)

Leading the MLS top-earners is Brazilian star Kaka who rakes in a record of just over $7.16m (£4.87m) with Orlando City.

The former AC Milan and Real Madrid attacking midfielder makes $6.6m (£4.5m) base salary with the rest made up of a prorated share of compensation.

Coming in behind Kaka in second position is Toronto FC maestro Sebastian Giovinco, formerly of Juventus, who earns around $7.11m.

In third position is Toronto captain and USA international Michael Bradley on $6.5m before Gerrard and Lampard.

Sixth position is occupied by Juventus and Italy legend Andrea Pirlo and in seventh is his New York City FC teammate, ex-Barcelona and Atletico Madrid striker David Villa.

Former Premier League stars Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy), Tim Howard (to join Colorado Rapids in July) and Didier Drogba (Montreal Impact) come in at 11th, 12th and 13th respectively while former top flight defender Liam Ridgewell, who captained Portland Timbers to the MLS Cup last season, is 19th on the list.
