Jamie Carragher has condemned Carlo Ancelotti to the Real Madrid managerial scrapheap.

The former Liverpool defender is of the belief that the Italian will lose his job at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after failing in the Champions League semi-finals.

The reigning European cup winners were eliminated from the competition at the hands of Juventus on Wednesday night and Carragher feels Ancelotti will no longer be at the helm next season such is the cut-throat nature of modern day football.

"You know how this club works, he knows that better than anyone. He was a [Sergio] Ramos header away in last year's final in the last minute of the game from losing his job," he said on Sky Sports.

"That's what happens when you're manager of Real Madrid. He's one of the world's top managers, won the Champions League three times, but there's no way he will be here next year.

"I'm sure there'll be a change."
