Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka is believed to be on the verge of joining Liverpool.
Reports suggest that the 24-year old Ukraine international has emerged as a strong target for the Reds this week and is now in talks regarding a move to Anfield.
Konoplyanka's father told media in the Ukraine that his son was close to joining an English club, believed to be Liverpool.
"I do not want to say specifically but the information about a transfer to the English club is true," he said.
"He can change clubs later this week. We do not consider offers from Ukraine."
Konoplyanka, who has played 35 times for Ukraine, is valued at around £16million and would provide some satisfaction for manager Brendan Rodgers after he recently missed out on Mohamed Salah who joined Chelsea from FC Basel.
