Liverpool eager to tie down Sakho amidst Bayer Leverkusen, Roma interest

Liverpool are understood to be preparing to discuss a new deal with French international Mamadou Sakho.

The Daily Mail is reporting Liverpool has received interest from AS Roma and Bayer Leverkusen for the 25-year-old, but will now look to secure his Anfield future with a long-term deal.

It is understood Sakho could see his weekly wages increase from £75,000 to £100,000.

Sakho may be hesitant to sign a new deal however, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers having elected to go with Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren as his central defensive pairing in Liverpool's opening two Premier League fixtures, while sitting Kolo Toure on the bench.
