Liverpool denied two penalties says Rodgers

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers suggests his side should have been awarded two penalties in their 2-1 loss to Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Gareth Bale's 72nd minute own-goal gave the Reds some hope after the Welshman added to Aaron Lennon's early opener for Spurs but it could have been a completely different outcome according to Rodgers who believes his side were cheated out of a win.

"We never got the rub of the green tonight. It was a little embarrassing to be honest," he said.

"Two clear penalties. Steven Gerrard - that was bordering on assault, never mind a tackle (from Moussa Dembele).

"It was frightening how we never got the penalty for that. And if you watch, Luis Suarez gets kicked by William Gallas also."
