Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk is not surprised at Danny Ings being a success at his former club Southampton.

Van Dijk completed a move from the Saints to the Reds two seasons ago.

But Ings went the other way, as he wanted regular first team appearances after struggling during his career with the Reds.

He has been a revelation for Southampton this season, having bagged 14 goals.

"We all know him, he's a fantastic guy," said Van Dijk to reporters.

"When I arrived I saw the qualities he showed and he's obviously has been a key man for their team.

"I'm very happy for them that they turned it around. Very happy for the club and hopefully they kick on. But on Saturday we will try to win the game and try and get a really good result.

"We have strong opponents that we're going to play and I think our strength is that we don't underestimate anyone. In the game of football, anything can happen."
