Liverpool defender Martin Kelly is happy seeing Jack Rodwell's red card wiped out.

The Everton midfielder was sent off in their derby defeat to the Reds.

Even Liverpool's players were amazed by Rodwell's dismissal, and yesterday, their defender Kelly admitted he was so surprised, because the Everton midfielder is hardly renowned for his aggressive play.

"I know Jack and he's a nice lad - he certainly wouldn't have intended to harm anyone," Kelly explained.

"He's the complete opposite. If anything their gaffer wants Jack to be a bit more nasty. It's just not in his character to do anything malicious."
