Liverpool defender Joe Gomez was happy to back for victory over Aston Villa.

Gomez was delighted to be part of the 3-0 win.

"Obviously things change and you have to try and stay ready," the defender told LFC TV. "That's what I try and pride myself off - try and apply myself everyday to be ready to try and contribute to the team.

"It's nice on a personal note but even better to get the three points.

"It's just a start and we have to keep progressing.

"It's a different team. We think it's important always that we don't get ahead of ourselves, now all the boys go off around the world then we have to come back and regroup straight away to try and keep the momentum going."
