Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is unsure about signing for Aston Villa.

The centre-back, who has been out of favour at the Anfield club this season, is wanted by Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

While Gomez is likely to leave Liverpool in the summer, The Express states that Villa is far from his most likely destination.

Gerrard, who now manages Villa, would have to work very hard to convince Gomez that Villa Park is the best place for him.

The centre-back wants to sign for a team that is competing in Europe, which is not the case for Villa.

The defender may be hoping a club vying for a Champions League or Europa League spot will bid for him in the summer.
