Liverpool have ramped up their pursuit to sign Porto youngster Ruben Neves, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Ruben Neves is regarded as one of the finest young players plying their trade in Europe at the moment and the 18-year-old made history by becoming the youngest captain in Champions League history after leading out Porto during their clash against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday night.

As a result, it has been no surprise to see Neves being courted by a host of clubs and reports have claimed that the Reds are stepping up their pursuit to sign the youngster after sending scouts to monitor him in Porto's 2-0 win over Tel Aviv.
