Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is delighted helping Holland reach Euro2024.

The Oranje skipper impressed as they defeated Republic of Ireland last night to confirm qualification.

"It is a special moment," Van Dijk told NOS.

"We are qualified and can be proud. I have seen other countries cheer even more exuberantly. It is great that we are going to the EC.

"We have had so many injuries in this qualification, and when you see that we can still do it, I am very proud of it.

"We have really struggled, especially in Ireland and against Greece. It bodes well. Let's get all the Dutch national team players fit this summer and then we will make something great out of it in Germany."
