Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says they want to win the derby against Everton for Jamie Carragher.

It will be Carragher's last Merseyside derby before he hangs up his boots at the end of the season.

"Being a local lad we feel the passion that runs through the city," Gerrard told talkSPORT. "These Merseyside derbies are massive. Jamie [Carragher] will be playing at the weekend, he's one of the first names on the team-sheet at the moment because he's been brilliant since he came back into the team.

"We're hoping to get a nice derby victory for Jamie to remember because this is his last one. I'm going to miss him more than anyone. I'm close to Jamie on and off the pitch, it's an emotional time him packing it in."
