Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reviving his pursuit of Schalke defender Kosta Papadopoulos.
The Daily Express says Liverpool are expected to hand Rodgers a £50m transfer kitty at the end of the season with a view to strengthening the squad for a Champions League campaign.
Papadopoulos is a long-term target for Liverpool and almost joined the club last summer before suffering a serious knee injury.
But the 22-year-old has returned strongly this season, and is seen as just the sort of powerful defender that can provide additional protection to Simon Mignolet.
