Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has ruled out moving for free agent Victor Valdes.
Rodgers, speaking to AS, simply answered "no" when asked if any Spanish players would be arriving at the club in the next few months - a clear reference to the speculation over Valdes.
The ex-Barcelona and Spain gloveman was close to joining Monaco in the summer but an injury put paid to his Ligue 1 switch.
Liverpool's interest then piqued, with figures inside Anfield increasingly unconvinced by Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet, a £9.5million signing from Sunderland in 2013.
