Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is chasing AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic. The Daily Mail says Rodgers' trip to Italy was to lay the groundwork for a deal for Pjanic.
Rodgers departed Anfield immediately after the 3-2 victory over Tottenham on Tuesday to fly to Rome, leaving assistant manager Colin Pascoe with media duties.
He is expected to be back for Liverpool's FA Cup clash at Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
