Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has plans to RE-SIGN Steven Gerrard next season.

Gerrard will leave when the current Barclays Premier League season ends after opting not to renew his contract at Anfield.

But the Telegraph says no sooner had Gerrard announced his intention to leave Anfield at the end of this season, than his club were exploring the possibility of a swift reunion in a year's time.

The 34-year-old has decided to move his family to America this summer, where he will feature in the second half of the MLS season due to start shortly.

LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls are battling for his signature.

And that leaves the door open for a return to the Premier League in January next year, when MLS players can go on loan to retain their fitness.
