Liverpool boss Rodgers admits Sturridge season could be over

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits Daniel Sturridge's season could be over.

The striker will be absent again at Hull City tomorrow with a hip problem.

"It has been difficult for Daniel," said Rodgers. "Daniel is a good lad. He wants to play and he wants to be working and helping.

"It has been one of those seasons where he has been very unfortunate and just missed out. We are just going to have to monitor that day by day.

"When he has been fit he has been brilliant for the team. The key now is getting him back consistent and playing for the team.

"We will see if that is going to be this season or pre-season.

"It is not am I tempted to leave him out? It is that he is not available. We will do what is in the best interests for him. We have to make sure Daniel is here for the next numbers of years, playing to the level we all know he can."
