Liverpool boss Klopp: This is how you stop Zlatan...

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits stopping Zlatan Ibrahimovic was key to victory at AC Milan.

The 2-1 win saw Liverpool complete their Champions League campaign group campaign with a 100 per cent record - a first for English football.

On facing Ibrahimovic, Klopp said: "How do you stop Zlatan? By preventing the ball from reaching him. This is the basis of football, to prevent the ball from reaching the most feared player.

"We defended in an exceptional way, the plan of the game was to play in half spaces, between the lines between midfield and attack, with Ibrahimovic moving the ball to look for the other attacking players and we made this complicated.

"At that point everything becomes more difficult; I must also say words for (Ibrahima) Konaté who was exceptional, as was (Nat) Phillips."

Klopp was seen having a word with Ibrahimovic afterwards and he added: "I met him in the tunnel, we shook hands and we didn't say much: I don't think it's such an important story."
