Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is closing in on Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.

Hodgson was at the DW on Saturday to make a personal check on the France winger. N'Zogbia emerged from the 2-2 draw as man-of-the-match.

Also on show for Hodgson was Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross, another in Liverpool's sights.
