Liverpool beaten by Spurs, Chelsea to FIVE big signings

Liverpool have been beaten by Chelsea and Tottenham to FIVE big signings in the past 18 months.

The Daily Express says Mohamed Salah's January move to Chelsea gazumped Liverpool, who had tracked the Egyptian for months.

Christian Eriksen was watched by Rodgers' scouting staff last summer but opted for Tottenham when leaving Ajax.

Willian was a target for both Liverpool and Spurs before the pair were trumped by Jose Mourinho in their bids to land the Brazilian.

The summer of 2012 saw Rodgers lose out to Andre Villas-Boas and Tottenham for Clint Dempsey and Gylfi Sigurdsson too.

Tottenham could make it No6 if they beat Liverpool for Dnipro winger Yehven Konoplyanka in the summer.
