Liverpool beat Man City in friendly shootout

Liverpool have won their preseason friendly against Manchester City on penalties.

Simon Mignolet made an instant impact for Liverpool on his return from the World Cup, as he proved their penalty shootout hero in New York.

The Belgian keeper saved twice in the shoot out at the end of the game against Manchester City, in what was his first appearance of the summer after being given extra time off.

Stevan Jovetic struck twice for City, while England midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling scored for Liverpool in normal time.
