Liverpool face having to cough up a fee for Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto.

The Daily Mail says the 25-year-old Brazilian has been on Liverpool's radar for months and was more attractive as he was a free agent in the summer.

He considered Liverpool but then signed a pre-contract with Juventus instead, believing Gianluigi Buffon was to wind down his career.

Buffon, though now 37, has been offered a new one-year contract after another solid season for the Champions League finalists and Neto is having second thoughts. He knows Liverpool would like to revive the deal but cash-conscious Juve will want compensating for his pre-contract agreement and they value Neto at £6m-8m.
