Lille defender Jose Fonte says he's drawing inspiration from Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo as he seeks to extend his career.
The former Southampton captain turned 38 in December.
He said, "At my age, I know my body. I know what it needs to perform. I always want to learn and discover new things to improve and professionalise myself. I always try to talk with people who deal with recovery, nutrition, pre- and post-workout training.
"To be lucky enough not to be hurt, to always be attentive to what I'm doing. With that, I hope to be able to continue two or three seasons at this level. Cristiano Ronaldo is the best. I have the opportunity to see him in selection, to watch him work.
"What he does, what he eats. It is an example of longevity and performance. He really is an example."
