Leverkusen's Kruse, NYRB pair Cahill and Carney in Socceroos squad

Australia boss Holger Osieck has named a provisional 24-man squad for upcoming friendlies with France and Canada.

The Socceroos take on Les Bleus at Paris' Parc des Princes on Friday October 11 (Saturday October 12 6:00am AEDT) and the Canucks at London's Craven Cottage on Tuesday October 15 (Wednesday October 16 6:ooam AEDT) as they continue their preparation for the 2014 World Cup.

Osieck has included Robbie Kruse, fresh off his brace in his starting debut for Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend, as well as New York Red Bulls pair Tim Cahill and David Carney - the latter having not played for the Socceroos for a little over 12 months.

FC Luzern's Oliver Bozanic is in line for his international debut after receiving his second call-up as is Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Mitch Langerak and Celtic's Jackson Irvine who is currently on loan at Kilmarnock.

Usual suspects include skipper Lucas Neill, who is closing in on Peter Wilson's record of 60 internationals as captain of Australia, midfielder Brett Holman and right-back Luke Wilkshire whilst veteran keeper Mark Schwarzer misses out.
