Bayer Leverkusen have decided not to offer Dimitar Berbatov a ticket back to the club.
The Manchester United striker was being heavily linked with a return to the German Bundesliga outfit but chief executive Wolfgang Halzhauer has recently pulled out of the race for the Bulgarian.
"We are still on good terms with him but he would only be an option if he was available on a free transfer.""We are looking to find a striker, one that works well alongside Stefan Kiessling. However, the return of Berbatov is not an option for us," said Halzhauer.
The decision of Bayer now puts plenty of doubt on the future of Berbatov who still looks certain to leave Old Trafford this summer.
