Following a torrid campaign this year, Everton midfielder Leon Osman is optimistic that Everton can make the top four next season.
Everton are currently languishing in 13th position on the Premier League table this season and their performances during the campaign have been a far cry in comparison to last term's heroics.
The experienced Osman admits at being surprised by the Toffees' spectacular slump but the 33-year believes that Everton will bounce back and challenge for the Champions League next term.
Osman told the Liverpool Echo: "I do think we are good enough to make the top four next season. We were disappointed not to get in the top four last season and I think the demands of having had such a good season meant teams were coming here hoping to nick a point.
"That was the first thing we had to learn this season and is something we eventually have learnt. It's about being patient because teams have just been coming to try and nick a point. We were over-stretching ourselves and teams ended up getting all three so we've learnt that now.
"Hopefully we can hit the ground running next season and we can be as good as we were last season. Last season, that points tally would've got us top four this season which just shows sometimes how seasons can be different."
