Lens striker Elye Wahi has revealed he had contact with Chelsea last summer.
The France international left Montpellier for Lens before the start of the season.
Wahi recalled to L'Equipe: "There was interest from big clubs such as Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt.
"I didn't want to go to Chelsea just to go there.
"Frankfurt was closer. I spoke to the coach (Dino Toppmüller). He spoke French, which was important to me. But they had to wait for the sale of Randal Kolo Muani, so it became too complicated.
"I regret nothing."
