Lennon urges his Celtic side to show they have the hunger

Celtic manager Neil Lennon wants his players to show that they are hungry for the title with a big win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Hoops have their 'catch-up' game against Caley at Caledonian Stadium tonight and Lennon says it is a great opportunity for the side to show they really want the title by storming two points ahead of title rivals Rangers.

"Hunger is the key now. That is the important thing in any championship-winning side," Lennon said.

"You have to have the hunger and desire to take on all challenges.

"You have to adapt to different formations, styles of football and overcome them. The top teams are up there because they do that consistently well.

"Winning the game (tonight) is all that matters. If that means we go top then fine but we need to win the game.

"Psychologically, it will give everyone a lift to go top of the league. It will be difficult."

And Lennon added that just because of the table positions these two dies have (Celtic 2nd and ICT 7th) does not necessarily mean a victory to the favourites.

"Look at Cardiff (in the English Championship) - not many people would have predicted Boro (Middlesbrough) going there and being three up so early but it happens in football," he added. "We'll use that as an eye for what can happen if we're not right at it from the start.

"It will be difficult enough but it doesn't matter whether it's at 6pm or 12pm - we rarely get a 3pm game on a Saturday anyway so the players are used to it."
