Lennon thrilled with performance of Celtic keeper Forster

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was delighted with how goalkeeper Fraser Forster performed in last night's Champions League qualifying win over Swedish club Helsingborgs.

The Bhoys won 2-0 away from home to put one foot into the group stage proper of Europe's premier club competition but they were not without their defensive close calls, having Forster to thank for a number of big saves as the home side chased the game.

Lennon feels that Forster's production will certainly not be lost on England selectors and was happy for the former Newcastle United man to show his best on the European stage.

"Fraser's done his chances (of an England call-up) no harm tonight," Lennon said on ITV1.

"I said you'd have an audience tonight and to go and show them how good you are.

"I thought he was excellent tonight. We've been banging the drum about him for a while, but it's not for us to say."
